  2. We are running all of our workshops and webinars online for the duration of the lockdown. We have been designing and running online courses for years - ahead of the curve! - and we are confident you'll find them just as engaging and effective as our live sessions.
  3. Jul 05,  · Magpie chattering at night Literally about 5 minutes ago, I heard a magpie chattering outside - bearing in mind that it's now am in the UK. I actually thought I was imagining things for a second but nope, it was definitely making its loud 'chakchakchakchak' warning call.
  4. I am unable to provide specific diagnostic or treatment advice for anyone who is not my patient and whom I have not assessed in person. Please don't ask me to give a diagnosis by email.
  5. I think learning, adapting and incorporating approaches from other fields gives Speech Therapists new ways of approaching old difficulties. In sharing my ideas and practice with you, either directly through my professional coaching and mentoring work, or indirectly through my blog and collection of resources and downloads, I hope that we will uncover new insights into effective and positive.
  6. With its noisy chattering, black-and-white plumage and long tail, there is nothing else quite like the magpie in the UK. When seen close-up its black plumage takes on an altogether more colourful hue with a purplish-blue iridescent sheen to the wing feathers and a green gloss to the tail. Magpies seem to be jacks of all trades - scavengers.
  7. This is still very much in evolution! Use the Contact Me button below if you want to see something different or additional in this project. At this point, the presentations won't constitute formal clinical practice hours, but I encourage course leaders to contact me to explore this in the coming months.
  8. What does “Magpie” mean? Pica is the classical Latin name for Magpie, although originally the collective name for Magpies was, simply, “pies”, meaning “pointed”. This was, most likely, in reference to the tail or beak. In a slightly unfair twist, the prefix of -pie, “Mag”, is derived from the name Margaret, used to describe women in general in the 16th century.
